grace that is more than sufficient

I was writing a song about the grace of God and I read a scripture that empowered me:

“From the fullness of his grace we have all received on blessing after another.”

I felt the Spirit of God move me to prayer and meditation.  I almost ignored His prompting like I am prone to do, but I I couldn’t.  I wrote in my journal the things that God highlighted to me about his grace:

His Grace is final; it is the answer.  Saying that His grace is sufficient is like saying that it is just enough.  His grace is more than enough!  His grace not only provides the minimum that we need to be reconciled to God but empowers us to walk freely and is the justification to every blessing we don’t deserve.  “From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another!”

I can picture God in heaven listing the blessings that are soon to come in my life and an angel asks, “Why?  Why bless him?  Did you not see what he just did?  It’s as if he doesn’t even want your blessing! And he definitely does not deserve it!”

God responds, “Grace!  It’s not about him, it’s about my grace!  My grace is stronger than anything man can do or say; it is final!”

His grace is designed for all men.  His grace is the answer for the problem that all men face.  The overwhelming thing is that we can’t earn it.  He earned it!  It has already been earned and it’s just waiting for every man to take hold of it.

The catch is this:  The only response to His grace I can make is rejection.  Even to accept His grace requires a heart that by His grace is softened and postured only by the Holy Spirit.

Praise God that His grace is the final answer and that it is free!
